Friends of 20th Street Park is working to redevelop a vacant City\u00a0lot on W 20th St<\/a>, between 6th and 7th Ave, into a 10,000-sq-ft pocket park. History: In the late 1800’s – early 1900’s, 140 W. 20th Street was actually the site of a\u00a0local NYC Public School,<\/a>,\u00a0P.S. 55<\/a>. Help bring this green space full circle and provide vital recreational space for Chelsea’s neighborhood children once again!<\/p>\n 4,000 Chelsea residents and growing as well as key community groups, including:\u00a0Council of Chelsea Block Associations<\/a>,\u00a0New Yorkers For Parks<\/a>,\u00a0Save Chelsea<\/a>,\u00a0Flatiron Alliance<\/a>, NYC Park Advocates and scores of area businesses and schools are all supporters of 20th Street Park.<\/p>\n This lot is unique.
